Big data for big pharma – Harmonizing business process management to enhance ambidexterity

Big pharma, the most important companies of the pharmaceutical sector, are ambidextrous organizations by their own nature. Big data can influence very strongly this characteristic, requiring at the same time adequate business process management. In fact, the impact of big data on business process management can assist big pharma in better performing the process efficiency (even when related to R&D pipeline), and in better performing the process efficacy (even when related to product portfolio management). This research investigates this possibility/opportunity.
