The newPIC chair of the Paris School of Business is releasing a new white paper! Commissioned by the Deeptech management of Bpifrance and Bpifrance Le Lab, this white paper analyses the variety of initiatives that strengthen the socio-economic contribution of universities in France. This is referred to as the “third” mission, along with training and research missions, and is used to transform the results of research into innovation that produces effects in society.
The White Paper proposes both an analysis of the original practices around this “third” mission and the locks that must be managed to allow it to be strengthened.
The project proposes a diagnostic and support tool to deploy and reinforce the “third” mission of universities for the benefit of technological innovation and deeptech. This new white paper has mobilized a team of three Paris School of Business teacher-researchers: Valérie Mérindol, David W. Versailles and Ekaterina Besson. Two students from the Business Consulting specialization of the PSB Master in Management have contributed to the data collection and analysis work as part of their graduation thesis.
The White Paper includes a foreword by Frédérique Vidal, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and a foreword by Bpifrance’s Directors of Innovation and Strategy. This foreword and preface illustrate the importance of this subject at national level and the enlightening nature of this White Paper for public policy. The research project carried out by the newPIC chair of PSB is part of the Deeptech plan carried out by Bpifrance to strengthen the creation of companies and technological innovation in France.
This white paper will be presented on February 24, 2021 during a webinar under Livestorm.
