Network Effects and Renewable Energy Diffusion: The German Success Story
Phillip CARTWRIGHT, Amy JONESThis paper argues that network economics is a valuable framework for understanding the important issues and analyzing cases where renewable energy diffusion has been successful or impaired. Focus is on in-depth application of network economics to describe the impact of renewable energy policies in Germany from 1991-2007. The paper concludes recommending the need for formal international coordination to support the expansion of renewable energy technologies.
